Opening Day:
Timberwood Park Elementary opened its doors to students in August of 2008.

How We Got Our Name: Nominations for a school name were elicited from residents of CISD. Then, a committee consisting of parents from the area narrowed the nominations to 2-3 choices which were then presented to the Board of Trustees. During a regularly scheduled board meeting on October 30, 2006, the Comal Independent School District Board of Trustees voted to name its newest elementary school located in Bexar County, Timberwood Park Elementary.

School Mascot:
Nominations for the school mascot were first solicited from students and parents. Next, a committee consisting of school personnel, the area school board member and parents residing within the Timberwood Park Elementary boundary met to narrow these choices to three. The three selections were then voted on by parents and students who were slated to attend Timberwood Park Elementary. From this, the mascot selected was the Timberwood Tigers.

School Colors:
The school colors are red and silver with a black and white tiger.
